The Wendale Davis Foundation (W.D.F.) is a local 501(C)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to motivate, encourage, and inspire individuals from all walks of life to both help themselves and their community. The goals of W.D.F. are clear: To lend support to those who have lost loved ones to senseless violence, to heighten awareness of the violence that occurs in our community, and provide tutoring, life skills training, and peer mentoring to those who are trying to avoid or leave behind the lifestyle that contributes to violent or criminal behavior. The foundation was established after an innocent 16 year old youth, Wendale Davis, was murdered on April 23rd, 2006. However, we still have an opportunity to help those who are looking for alternatives.

 

Along with continuing the work we do, our focus is to secure funding that would allow us to obtain a bigger recreation center so that we may serve our community adequately. The recreation center will allow us to host annual events, summer programs, and create a safe haven for our youth.
