The Wendale Davis Foundation, formerly known as Soldiers for Christ, is a nonprofit (501c3) organization located in Bakersfield, California. In 1996, founder Wesley Davis Jr. and team started Soldiers for Christ to hold community outreaches that spread the message of hope and help to create peace. Sadly, the transition to rename the organization the Wendale Davis Foundation happened the night Wesley's son, Wendale Davis, was murdered. He was only 16 years old. Although this tragedy was painful, Wesley did not let this stop his mission of giving back to the community. This only motivated him more to make change in the Bakersfield community. Thus Soldiers for Christ became the Wendale Davis Foundation.
